My aim is to produce work that is both functional and decorative. Porcelain is the chosen medium for my work becuase of its translucency and tensile strength whilst having an additional, deceptive quality of fragility. This makes it an ideal material for producing elegant and beautiful forms. My cylinders are hand-built and decoration is created using porcelain body-stain. I feel that my cylinders stand alone as objects but I would hope that they would also be used to display flowers or grasses.
